Sedation Dentistry

Dental needs happen. Fear can be a great obstacle for people trying to move into a healthier mouth. Dental fear has caused unexpected events the day of one’s dental appointment. The following are excuses we’ve heard when fear stood in the way of achieving a healthy mouth:

  • I am sick
  • I can’t get off work
  • My child is sick
  • My car won’t start
  • I have a family emergency
  • I have a flat tire

We realize that all of the above reasons are part of real life but we ask that you recognize, as we do, that many times fear is stopping you.

If you need a prescription for a medication to help relieve your anxiety before your first visit, please tell us. This is a very common request. Many patients need a prescription for something to take the night before the appointment just to help them get to sleep.

We have made a commitment to patients to do whatever it takes to make them comfortable during their visits with us. If it takes medication, “laughing gas”, or sedation, we are here to help you.

Make a commitment to yourself to follow through. We are, for many high fear dental patients, a ray of light and hope, a window of opportunity to achieve your goals.
